Rovaniemi ! Capital of Lapland ! Santa Claus Village ! Glass Igloo at West village in Seeriselka

Lapland is Finland’s northernmost region, a sparsely populated area bordering Sweden, Norway, Russia and the Baltic Sea. It’s known for its vast subarctic wilderness, ski resorts and natural phenomena including the midnight sun and the Northern Lights. Capital Rovaniemi is the gateway to the region. The homeland of the indigenous Sami people, which extends into neighboring countries, centers on the far north.

Finnish Lapland is the best place in the world to see, enter and experience snow buildings such as igloos and ice saunas, as well as bigger buildings like snow hotels and the famous Lainio SnowVillage. And of course, you can't talk snow buildings without mentioning the biggest in the world: the Kemi SnowCastle

Rovaniemi is the capital of Lapland, in northern Finland. Almost totally destroyed during World War II, today it’s a modern city known for being the "official" home town of Santa Claus, and for viewing the Northern Lights. It’s home to Arktikum, a museum and science center exploring the Arctic region and the history of Finnish Lapland. The Science Centre Pilke features interactive exhibits on northern forests.

.The Finnish city of Rovaniemi is located in the northernmost part of the country in the province of Lapland, just a few kilometres from the Arctic Circle. But most of all, it is famous as the official hometown of Santa Claus, where you can meet this icon of Christmas and Advent cheer every day of the year.

Santa Claus Village is located about 8 kilometres (5 mi) northeast of Rovaniemi and about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) from the Rovaniemi Airport.
The first original home of Santa Claus was Korvatunturi. In 1985, Rovaniemi was declared as an official hometown of Santa Claus

Arctic Circle: The Arctic Circle ostensibly cuts right through Santa Claus Village. A white line denoting the Arctic Circle (at its position in 1865) is painted across the park. Visitors officially enter the Arctic area when they cross the line. The line is a trendy photo spot for visitors. The Arctic Circle is actually 700 meters to the north, just south of the Rovaniemi airport.

Santa Claus' Main Post Office: A post office where visitors can read letters sent to Santa. Writers can also request a letter be mailed to them from Santa before Christmas. The office is an official Finnish post office.

Saariselkä is a resort village in northern Finland. Nowadays Saariselkä is a popular tourist destination due to Urho Kekkonen National Park, Sámi people living at the area, Gold mining legends of the area, Lapland scenery of Kaunispää and Iisakkipää fells, the Northern Lights and Glass igloo hotels.
