Visit of DILG Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. to Pag-Asa Island 04/22/2023

Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benjamin ‘Benhur’ Abalos Jr., together with key officials and representatives of various national government agencies, launched its pilot program dubbed "Bayanihang Adhikain, Bayaning Aksyon: Para sa Kalayaan," during his visit to Pag-Asa Island in the Municipality of Kalayaan, Palawan on April 22, 2023.

Aimed at empowering and capacitating the local community in Pag-Asa Island, Secretary Abalos conducted a drive-thru inspection of various infrastructure sites that were devastated by Typhoon Odette and held a dialogue with the local community to identify and address the Island's most pressing needs.

The Secretary, together with Kalayaan Municipal Mayor Roberto M. Del Mundo, also led the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Department of Information and Communication Technology’s (DICT) relaunching of the Local Government Unit (LGU) Kalayaan Tech4ED Center.
