Into gaming? Graphics? Rendering? Look to the VRAM. Video RAM is a crucial component in any gaming or graphics setup. Learn what VRAM is and why it matters.

VRAM, or video random access memory, is like RAM -- except it’s entirely dedicated to storing image data. So while most tech-savvy consumers look at RAM specs while shopping for a new computer, gamers, video editors, and application designers should pay close attention to VRAM, as well.

There’s a variety of different types of VRAM used for different use cases. Generally, gamers should look for 2-12 GB of VRAM, while video editing requires more -- 8-64 GB, depending on the project and types of files.

What kind of VRAM is best for your purposes and why? Let us know in the comments below, and remember to hit the like button.
