Propagate cuttings from these simple steps. Grow in bright, indirect light or partial shade; avoid direct sunlight, as this can burn the leaves.

It is commonly used as an ornamental plant in the garden and house, and in the Balinese Hindu culture it is considered a sacred plant. The leaves are a laxative, diuretic and used in the treatment of leprosy and gonorrhea. Different parts of the plant are also used in infectious diarrhea, pulmonary problems, and as an expectorant in asthma. It's non-toxic to dogs, cats, and horses.
