After three years of being paired, maned wolves Echo and Zayda produce two new pups at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute. Breeding this threatened species in captivity has always been difficult, but groundbreaking new research into canid in-vitro fertilization at the Cornell-Smithsonian Joint Graduate Training Program could change that.
