In this cs2 vac ban wave video I'll explain the recent (December 5, 2023) CS2 VAC ban wave and tell you what could have caused these CS2 VAC bans.
As far as I know, this cs2 ban wave isn't related to cs2 vac ban live, but this cs2 ban wave may be related to cs2 nvidia drivers or cs2 vac ban amd. It shouldn't be confused with cs2 vac ban high dpi, but this cs2 ban wave has resulted in a ton of false bans, and some say that this source 2 ban wave was one of the biggest in the history of CS2.
Valve has already commented on the cs2 false ban wave issue and said the source 2 bans were a result of Monday's update to the game that caused the cs2 ban,
and there are rumours that a potential cause may be related to the status of Nvidia drivers. Many users fiddle with Nvidia settings, and as CS2 is still in its initial phases, I wouldn't be surprised if that would be the case.
Knowing that in the past AMD's Anti-Lag+ has caused cs2 bans too, we shouldn't discount the possibility of a similar incident either - some also say that the cause of the bans may be related to Valve's update to its anti cheat system.
The bans may also been issued because users like to update their configuration files. Since many users use custom configuration files with alias and other commands, these may have been misinterpreted by CS2.
Valve has already made it illegal to use custom config files in tournaments too.
I would also like to note that some in-game optimizations may have been interpreted improperly as well. There have been cases where for some optimizations, players would have to modify their core Steam configuration files, so that may have been the cause as well.
Lastly, keep in mind that CS2 is still relatively new for the scene and cs2 issues are to be expected - Valve is already unbanning people who have been wrongfully banned and it seems like they've already fixed the cs2 ban wave issue, but I think that we will see more of such occurrences in the future as well due to certain source 2 features still being worked on.
