Illustration of War between People of Cirebon against Dutch Colonial Rule
in 1818, the people of Cirebon Sultanate rise up against Dutch Colonialism. Pressed by the hardship imposed by the Dutch Colonial government, extortion of harvest, forced labour (most of it during French-Dutch occupation of Daendels) and the intervention of Dutch Government to the Succession of Sultanate throne led the open revolt of Cirebonese against Dutch Colonial rule. During the attack in cirebon, notably in Kedondong area, led to severe Dutch defeat, notably in Palimanan where a Dutch Resident killed by the fighters. The revolt itself is part of series of major struggle during 1802 until 1818 to liberate the Sultanate of Cirebon from Colonial oppresion.
