USSSA Slow-pitch Softball Strike Zone -- (( SEE DESCRIPTION FIRST- not all pitches are legal ))

****   IMPORTANT   ***
THE BALL HAS TO TRAVEL (AT LEAST) 3 FEET UPWARDS FROM RELEASE AND 3 FEET DOWNWARDS BEFORE IT ARRIVES AT THE PLATE for it to be a legal pitch.

-------- The pitches that are 8'-10' do move up & down the specified 3' from release.
-------- The pitches that are 6'-8' move up 3 feet, but NOT DOWN 3 feet before it arrives at the plate.
Therefore, most of the 6'-8' pitches in this video ARE NOT legal, even though they go through the strike zone.

This video is to help people see how deep the ball can travel and still be a strike as it passes through the zone between the front knee and back shoulder (as if the Batter was standing at the plate) as long as the pitch is:
(1) pitched underhand at a SLOW SPEED.
(2) MUST ARC 3 feet after leaving the pitcher's hand before it arrives at the plate.
(3) no higher than 10'.  
This is all in the judgement of the Umpire along with the SPEED.

** In this video, The Batter is 6' tall and the silver tape (strike zone) is from the front knee to the back shoulder.  In between the pitcher and plate is a measuring stick with 6' & 10' marked with red.**
Most other Associations have similar strike zones also
