Back when I wrote this tune, I hadn't even heard the term "cultural appropriation." The visual of me that plays during the line "Y me gusta mi Mii, si si" seemed fine at the time, but in retrospect, it creates a joke out of a culture that's not my own. It makes a cartoon out of a group of people that, at least in the United States, are already marginalized. So while you and I may have thought of it as "all in good fun" at one time, please know that I wouldn't portray it that way today and I wish I hadn't in the first place.
