Welcome, everyone! In today's video I'll be showing you how to install the Battle.net Launcher on your Steam Deck so that you can natively install popular Activision Blizzard games to your device.

We'll be doing this with the help of a community developed toolkit called NonSteamLaunchers as it is quite useful and makes things so much easier for us.

So to begin, we first need to reboot our Steam Deck into Desktop Mode.
Then we're going to visit the GitHub page for the the NonSteamLaunchers project.
Scroll down until you see the big Download button and let's right-click it so that it can be saved to the Desktop of the Steam Deck.

Now you're going to be asked which launcher you want to install.
As this video is focused on Battle.net, we're going to make sure that is the only launcher that will be installed here.
When you're ready, click OK and let the script do the work for us.

There's a number of things going on in the background right now.
This script is installing the latest version of GE-Proton. It then installs the binaries for NonSteamLauncher under a unique Proton prefix folder.
And then it adds everything to our Steam Library so that we can access it in Desktop or Gaming Mode.

Not only will this project allow us to install the launchers you saw in that list, but it also handles all of the downloads for those launchers and sets up the installation folder for your Steam Deck as well.
NonSteamLaunchers includes microSD support so that everything can be moved or installed to the card rather than your internal storage.

After the launcher of your choice has been installed, let's go ahead and open up Steam.
Find the launcher that you just installed and then launch them directly from here.

reboot into gaming mode

And as long as your game was installed through the launcher we just setup, it should be added to your library in Gaming Mode automatically.

You'll just need to remember to change the Compatibility Mode within the Properties menu to Proton Experimental.
Some launchers require you to install additional setup files when you first run them. So be ready for that.
And I've also found that logging into these launchers through your social accounts tend to be easier in Desktop Mode rather than Gaming Mode.

The last thing you'll want to do is bring up the Game Controller layout menu after you have opened the launcher.
Change this to Gamepad with Mouse Trackpad and then you'll be able to easily use the mouse controls while you're in the launcher itself.
