I recently went on a quick day trip to Historic Yorktown Virginia. Unlike Williamsburg and Jamestown, which are pretty large and have reenactment actors, Yorktown is a much smaller area and does not have any reenactment actors.
Yorktown is where the Revolutionary War essentially came to an end when French and American Forces defeated Charles Cornwallis. Although the war continued for about a year after this point, this was the turning point in the war and was the last major land battle.
Yorktown has a Monument to designate this area as historically important. There is also the historic town with some historic buildings to see as well. Finally, there is the modern area of the town near the water where they have a nice beach and restaurants to eat at.
