This video describes the difference between the Lagrangian and Eulerian descriptions of the flow fields. The concept of the material derivative that represents the time rate of change of some physical quantity is also introduced and related to Lagrangian and Eulerian approaches. We also use an analogy of the traffic and cars in Montreal to explain the difference between Lagrangian and Eulerian measurements.
