I made this song + vid after watching an episode of Japanese queer eye where this couple had never ever had an honest conversation with each other. In the episode they fully broke down + told each other how they felt and it was the realest moment I’ve ever ever witnessed between 2 people. I don’t know know if I’ve ever seen anything that hit me that hard. Not sure why specifically this, but seeing the guy sob tears that sounded like had never left his body his whole life…the feeling behind all it represented sososo much more than just their situation.

Our emotions are a holy grail. They bring us closer to nature. To EVERYTHING. It doesn’t matter who we are, where we’re from or what our identity, culture, whatever is. Our emotions are our life force. That’s why suppressed emotions make us ill. They give us access to everything in existence when we work with them in a conscious way. With respect and honour for what they can actually do. Not moving mad & just unleashing them left right and centre with no awareness.

Mastery of mind and emotions doesn’t mean becoming a stoic, dismissive, self-gaslighting robot. It means working with whatever comes up inside of you in the most Jedi-self aware x warm big busty mother energy you can muster. The lads behind MK Ultra taught media and governments how easily programmable human emotions are…all of that is still being used today and on steroids. Time to take it back ^^^^

When you watch the video really feel what comes up in you as the images move across the screen. Be present with it. Pay attention to your body. Your feelings. What moments do you tense up? release? feel angry? sad? excited? lifted? furious? chaos? free?

I had zero plan for the video but everything just came all at once and I knew I didn’t need to sit there trying to make it make sense while editing it. It’s symbolic, clear and mysterious all at once. I’m still piecing together what it all means all these years on, but this is the best I can offer….the rest is for you.

To summarise: all hail a regular snot cry x laughing fit that makes u fart (sometimes they happen at the same time if we’re really feeling a type of way. go on jez!!!!)

LYRICS

GO ON LET IT OUT
FEEL WHAT YOU NEED TO FEEL
I SAY LET IT OUT
FEEL WHAT YOU NEED TO FEEL
YOU’RE SHAKING IN MY ARMS
LIKE A BABY BIRD
LIKE YOU WANNA KNOW WHAT LOVE IS
HEAR THE WATER CALL
FEEL WHAT YOU GOTTA FEEL

DADDY COULDN’T GROW
HE HAD THE WEIGHT OF THE WORLD
MAMMA TOOK THE LOAD
KEPT HIS SECRET NICE AND COLD
HE’S A LOVING MAN
SHE’S A LOVING HAND
THEY’RE SHAKING IN MY ARMS
LIKE THEY’RE BABY BIRDS
LIKE THEY NEVER KNOW WHAT LOVE IS
GRANDMAMA IS OLD, HER EYE’S GOT A DIFFERENT SOUL
WHAT YOU REALLY FEEL
WHAT YOU REALLY FEEL

THE VIDEO FEATURES THE KOGI - https://www.taironatrust.org/home
"The Kogi have no written language yet they practise a philosophy and form of thought that has been pretty effectively destroyed everywhere else by the advance of the modern world.  They consider themselves to be the guardians of the earth and are worried by our attempts to destroy it. They refer to us as Younger brother.  Their communities are governed by Mamas, who are always male and their female equivalents Sagas.  They are much more than just leaders. Kogi culture centres on a belief that the material world is the physical trace of a thought-world sustained in "Aluna".  Aluna is not just a spirit world but the thinking and acting life force. The role of the Mamas is to mediate between the physical world and "Aluna" to ensure that dangerous and destructive forces are held in check. Maintaining their culture and way of life is essential if life on earth is to continue for all of us.  The Kogi are trying to preserve a world of ideas that was once shared by all humanity but which is now all but lost.

Please consider supporting the work of the Trust in helping to preserve and protect the indigenous knowledge and people of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia".
