Lung cancer is the most common malignancy and the leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. There are two types of Lung Cancer namely Small Cell Lung Cancer ( SCLC ) and Non-Small Lung Cancer ( NSCLC ) which is further subdivided into Squamous cell & Adenocarcinoma.

Lung Cancer has 4 Stages:

Stage 1 where Cancer is found in the lung, but it has not spread outside the lung.

Stage 2 where Cancer is found in the lung and nearby lymph nodes.

Stage 3 where Cancer is in the lung and lymph nodes in the middle of the chest.

Stage 4 where Cancer has spread to both lungs, into the area around the lungs, or to distant organs.

Each stage has its own pre-defined treatment, which may include - Surgery / Chemotherapy / Immunotherapy / Radiation.

Under Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC), the disease began with changes to the genes. These changes, called "mutations," cause the lung cells to grow out of control. The Mutations detected in Lung Cancer Patients can be the following:
- Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)
- ALK Mutation
- BRAF Mutation
- HER2
- MET Mutation
- PD-L1 positivity
