Jomhouri Street is located in the 11th district of Tehran, between Jomhuri Eslami Square and Baharestan Square. The approximate length of this street is about 5.2 km and it has important intersections with Valiasr, Kargar and Ferdowsi streets. Towards the end of the Qajar period, Jomhuri Street in Tehran, which was not a very important street at that time, gradually became more prosperous. During the reign of Reza Shah, more attention was paid to this street, and gradually Western-style buildings and structures were gathered around it. Hence, this street is also known as Shah or Shahabad Street. Entering the 1920s, Jomhouri Street became one of the most important streets in Tehran. In addition, the most important streets around the jomhouri are Lalehzar Street, Bastan Street, Hafez Street and South Eskandari Street. Jomhuri Eslami Street, which was known as Shahabad and then Istanbul Street before the Islamic Revolution, is a major street in the center of Tehran. This street hosts many tourist attractions. Among them, we can mention the Glass Museum on Tir 30th Street, Firooz Bahram Historical School, Naderi Cafe, Charso and Aladdin Complex and Plasco Passage, and many beautiful surviving buildings with beautiful Qajar and Pahlavi architecture.

خیابان جمهوری در منطقه 11 شهری تهران و در حد فاصل میدان جمهوری اسلامی و میدان بهارستان قرار گرفته است. طول تقریبی این خیابان حدود 5.2 کیلومتر بوده و تقاطع‌های مهمی با خیابان‌های ولیعصر، کارگر، فردوسی دارد. در اواخر دوران قاجار، خیابان جمهوری تهران که در آن زمان خیابان چندان مهمی نبود، به تدریج رونق بیشتری پیدا کرد. در دوران رضا شاه توجه بیشتری به این خیابان معطوف شد و به تدریج بناها و ساختمان‌هایی به سبک غربی در اطراف آن گرد آمدند. از این رو این خیابان را با نام خیابان شاه یا شاه آباد نیز می‌شناسند. با وارد شدن به دهه 20 خیابان جمهوری در بین خیابان‌های مهم تهران قرار گرفت. علاوه بر این از مهم‌ترین خیابان‌های اطراف جمهوری باید به خیابان لاله زار، خیابان باستان، حافظ و خیابان اسکندری جنوبی، اشاره کرد. خیابان جمهوری اسلامی که تا پیش از انقلاب اسلامی خیابان شاه‌آباد و سپس استانبول شناخته می‌شد یک خیابان اصلی و مهم در مرکز تهران است. این خیابان میزبان جاذبه‌های گردشگری بسیار زیادی است. از جمله آنها می‌توان به موزه آبگینه در خیابان سی‌تیر، مدرسه تاریخی فیروزبهرام، کافه نادری، مجتمع چارسو و علا‌ٍالدین و پاساژ پلاسکو و بسیاری از ساختما‌ن‌های زیبای به جای مانده با معماری زیبای دوران قاجار و پهلوی اشاره کرد
