This electronics video tutorial explains how to convert a square wave to a triangle wave and how to convert a triangular waveform into a sine wave using a simple filter composed of resistors and capacitors. It also explains how to create a signal generator also known as a waveform or function generator using the 555 timer IC which produces the square wave that can be later converted to a triangle wave or a sine wave. The amplitude of the sine wave is greatly reduced by the RC filter network. The frequency of the square wave and the duty cycle can be adjusted using two resistors and a capacitor.
