Personal opinion - its quite loud without a DB killer so I recommend buying one at least for the long journeys or just to have it in times that you want to be a bit more quiet. Its especially drony in the low range making the motorcycle louder when you are trying to chug along. *I haven't made any changes to the jetting of the carburetors. A slight loss in low end torque (below 2k rpm) was noticed when pulling off as well as while cruising. I could attribute that to the lower back pressure when running the shorter end can without a DB Killer.
