The small island state east of China has so much variety to offer in an area that is just as big as Baden-Württemberg: modern metropolises like Taipei, tropical sandy beaches in Kenting National Park, impressive coastal landscapes and canyons in the east of the country, and small tropical islands where you can swim with sea turtles. Add to that an exciting cultural mix of Chinese and Japanese influences, and because only a few western tourists find their way to Taiwan, you can travel the country in a very authentic way.
