Vidya Bagchi (Vidya Balan) is seven months pregnant when she travels from London to Kolkata. Alone in a foreign land, she's on a quest to track down her absent husband. All she has to go on in her relentless search are fragments of memories of him.

But she finds every clue leads to a dead end. To make matters worse, people try to convince her that her husband never existed in the first place! Realising that nothing is what it seems in this city of lies, Vidya redoubles her determination to uncover the truth for herself and her unborn child - even if this comes at the cost of her life. Having won a string of awards for her performance in last year's acclaimed 'The Dirty Picture', Vidya Balan returns in another compelling lead role.
