Space Battleship Yamato is considered one of the most influential anime series in Japan and has a lot of fans around the world. After the attack on the Earth of the evil alien race, Gamilons, the nations of Earth form the Earth Defense Force to get the Cosmo DNA which can help to protect the Earth from radiation damage, and Yamato battleship with powerful space warp drive is used by the crew of Earthlings for this mission to the planet Iscandar.
The elongated hull of Yamato features a distinctive shape - while primarily inspired by the design of the lead ship of the Imperial Japanese Navy, the anime version is equipped with the Wave Motion Engine which, due to the peculiarities of the cutting of the model, can be illuminated together with the ship’s bridge and hull. The author paid special attention to the armament of Yamato - the model features different types of guns, all of them movable in the FFF/FDM version and with different gun angles for better presentation possibilities when printing on resin 3D printers.
The model shown in the video was 3D printed on a Bambu Lab FDM printer.
