Optimum concentration of IPA used for disinfection is 70% and we do not use 100%
IPA because 100% IPA does not kill microbes instead it results in dormant stage of microbes due to coagulation of Proteins.
Water is also used along IPA and it acts as a catalyst.
In this video we also discussed the procedure of preparing 70% IPA.
