Back after 12 years!! The second video we shared on the Haircut Harry YouTube channel was at Yasemin Erkek Kuaförü which is located inside Istanbul's historic Grand Bazaar and promises a local experience.
UPDATE ‼️ Not too long after we filmed Abdullah, the barbershop owner, decided it was time to close the shop and retire. Sadly, after over 60 years as a barbershop this location now stands empty. Good news is that Zulfikar is currently working at a new shop, also within the Grand Bazaar, and only a few feet away! Please see the address for this location below.

So when we visited Istanbul, Turkey for a few days this summer we could not miss the opportunity to revisit the barbershop we filmed at back in 2010! However, this video was not released until 2012 when more affordable editing software became available.
Inside Instanbul's Grand Bazaar the shops are spread out in a maze like fashion. It’s a fun place to get lost amongst the shops and find hidden surprises. For us, the gem was Yasemin Erkek Kuaförü, it is well tucked away between the cafes, clothing, and ceramic stalls. After 12 years since our last visit, not a lot has changed! The shop is always hard to find, but were we in for a treat when we did!
We were happy to find barber Zulfikar Korkut still working at the shop. Zulfikar recognized us immediately through the window of the shop! He couldn’t believe how many years had passed! Not speaking the same language, we communicated a little bit in French.
He told us over the years people had visited the shop for a haircut or shave after watching his work in our original video. Zulfikar was grateful for that.
Abdullah is the owner and has been with the shop for 45 years since he was 20 years old. It was awesome to visit Zulfikar and Abdullah again💈🙌🏼 You can catch Abdullah’s appearances in both videos. In this video he performs a neck cracking finale.
