Railway Sleeper pond build - part 1 the easiest way to build an outdoor pond!

It all started with a spade.. well for 5 minutes then i hired a digger! As our property was built in the late 60's, the old house was used as backfill under the lawn. This meaning soil was placed on the rubble, and then grass seeded. There was no chance i was getting through this with a shovel!

The sleepers were of ebay, 12 for £14 each including delivery, the carpet was from oll bish the carpet guy which im using as pond underlay due to the rocks, bricks and roots
