These little donuts are easy to make and are a visual delight.
Rainbow Food playlist: Rainbow Food!

I made a half recipe in the video and it made about one dozen mini donuts. If  you want to make the half recipe, simply divide the ingredients by half.

Full Recipe:
2 cups all purpose flour (regular flour)
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup buttermilk (make your own by mixing 3/4 cup milk with 3/4 tablespoon of vinegar, stir and let sit for 5 minutes).
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 tbsp melted butter

Mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.  Add the buttermilk, eggs, vanilla and melted butter.  Combine everything together until just barely moistened .  If making rainbow donuts, divide batter into six portions and tint each portion with food colour.
Pipe or spoon batter into donut molds until about half full and bake at 425 F for 5-8 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the donut comes out clean or when the tops of donuts spring back when touched.  They will be ready long before they turn brown, they bake quickly keep an eye on them.

Let cool for about 5 minutes and then drizzle the glaze over them or dunk the whole donut into the glaze,  Allow excess to drip off on a rack and enjoy! The glaze with dry in a few minutes.  Best eaten same day but if you need to store them put them in a sealed container.  The glaze might get sticky in the container the next day in the container.

Glaze:
1 cup confectioner's (a.k.a. powdered or icing sugar)
1 tbsp milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
Blend the above ingredient together until smooth, add more milk if it isn't runny enough for drizzling or dunking.  This makes a TON of glaze, probably more than you will need for two dozen mini donuts (especially if you are using it as a drizzle).
I would make half a recipe first and make more if necessary.  Make the glaze just before using it or keep it tightly covered with plastic wrap because the surface with start to crust up quickly.
