Anchor weights change the angle
Anchor weights change the angle of pull on the anchor to help it dig in. They act as a spring to dampen all sudden boat movement from waves, wakes and wind gusts and considerably reduce boat swing (important if anchoring near coral). These actions are normally transmitted through to the anchor and can cause the anchor to roll out and drag.
