3 Common mistakes everyone seems to be making when installing hyper heat mini splits inverter HVAC systems.

Raise it up at least 6” per the installation manual if you’re in a cold climate where it falls below 32F/0C. This is to avoid ice building up during the defrost mode so water can easily flow out of the bottom, and it also keeps the coils up out of the snow.

Installing a surge protector. I didn’t see this in the manual, but my installer said the #1 call he gets with mini splits and hyper heat inverter systems is when a surge protector wasn’t installed and blows out the system. He said they’re very sensitive. Here’s the one he used on mine as an example https://rectorseal.com/rsh-50-surge-p... ($75-$90)

Installing a snow cap if you live in a snowy climate. Last snow storm I noticed some ice build up on the coils, and noticed that the installation manual clearly stated to put a snow cap on it if you live in a snowy climate to help prevent snow from getting sucked into the coils and freezing over. I installed one from Hanger, and love it! https://www.hangaroutdoor.com/shop/p/... ($349)
