China’s air force and navy staged a large-scale drill off the south and southwest of Taiwan, according to the self-ruled island’s defence ministry. The Chinese exercises involved fighter jets, bombers and warships, Taiwan’s defence ministry said in a statement on July 12. The defence ministry of Taipei said that in the past 24 hours, it had detected 32 Chinese air force planes entering the island’s air defence identification zone (ADIZ). Watch for further details.
