Ligases: Enzyme class 6. In this video, I have explained about class 6 enzymes that are ligases. Ligases catalyze reactions by joining two molecules or substrates coupled with the hydrolysis of ATP. These enzyme-catalyzed reactions form new bonds like C-C, C-0, C-S, C-N and C-P bonds. Examples are pyruvate carboxylase, acetyl -CoA carboxylase, glutamate synthetase, and DNA ligase.
