I never understood what the
I never understood what the hoopla was all about when the Tesla S P90D first came out. It's just another fast car. Well that's what I thought until my girlfriend's friend Ruby let me review her car.
The Model S P90D is special, efficient and ferocious. This monster is capable of 0-60 in 2.5 seconds. Faster than any full production car any manufacturer has ever produced. I didn't have a stop watch, but I could tell you it's the fastest car I've ever driven. Ask my stomach. I got dizzy and felt like throwing up and that's just from going 0-60. I've driven fast cars like the Lamborghini Adventedor, Nissan GTR, Porsche 911 Turbo S and the Corvette Z06 and the Tesla P90D felt nothing like those Supercars, it felt faster and put the power down better. You'll feel 1.12 Gs which is the 4th from the Lambo Hurican LP610-4, Porsche 911 Turbo S, and Porsche 918.
The infotainment system in the Model S was impressive. It includes a 17-inch touch screen that manages most of the car's audio and climate operations, along with navigation, vehicle settings, and cabin controls such as operating the sunroof and much much more. The interface is straightforward and can be overwhelming. Maybe there's too much information? Naaaa!!! It's like building your own car in Grand Turismo on Playstation!!!
The ride is on the firmer side like the BMW and Maserati. I didn't drive the Tesla through the canyons but I'm sure it would handle well since the suspension is tight, ride is smooth and the center of gravity is low and even.
I could forgive and live with the interior in exchange for the driving experience. The interior is subpar with a mixture of really nice and yucky materials. Tesla is unique, the interior design is awesome and unique, the tech is magical and uncanny, but the driving experience is like no other car out there.
