Lamium has been growing in my yard for many years. Other than deadheading, I find myself spending more time cutting the old stems that have died back in the summer. This year, trying out a spring cut back so all leggy and brown stems are removed when the new growth are still emerging.

4 months update. I see there is a difference in that no more crawly brown stems. Most people may not notice them 😉
August Update - Nice new leaves after the dead head
Also compare the Blue Bugle Ajuga to this a s border and ground cover. Ajuga has less work and has no brown spots. Lamium is also easy enough. I keep both for variety.
