Origami Squirrel
[1. Start with steps 1 – 5 of the Minnow]
1. Start with the plain side facing up. Crease and unfold both diagonals
2. Fold both lower edges to the centre crease
3. Fold the lower corner behind to touch the top corner
4. Ease the corners out and down as you fold the upper edges inwards
5. Fold a triangular section downwards
THEN
6. Rotate 90 degrees clockwise. Make a valley crease as shown on the dotted line. Repeat on the upper half
7. Carefully start to fold these creases. Fold the top right edge behind and flatten the left edges together as they fold upwards. Fold the top section backwards
8. This is the result. Fold the lower edge to the nearest edge, crease and unfold
9. Fold one layer to each side, turning the paper inside out using the crease you have just made
10. Crease and unfold the top-left section as shown on the dotted line
11. Again, turn the layers inside out
12. Carefully ease out a layer of paper on each side of the head and flatten
13. This is the result. Fold the nose inside and fold the two lower corners at the base
14. Now you squirrel is finished
