The first ever in utero stem cell treatment for spina bifida is the culmination of decades of work from UC Davis surgeon-scientist Diana Farmer. This novel fetal surgery at UC Davis Children’s Hospital could change the life of a developing baby with spina bifida, who otherwise could be born paralyzed from the waist down. This Emmy winning documentary from UC Davis Health explores the science behind the procedure and chronicles the journey of the first mother to participate in the groundbreaking CuRe Trial.
