Demo of The Sony VPL-HW40ES Home theater projector - High Resolution Test Material and Xbox One Gaming.
Sony Test Material from Youtube and Halo V from Xbox One shown on 135inch Stewart Cima Neve Projection Screen.
I've had this system installed for 2 weeks currently and have been very please with the performance. Having previously owned a Epson 6500UB and a Carada 114inch BW screen, I've noticed a big difference in both detail and color reproduction. Black levels are excellent in a light controlled environment and comparable to the Epson 5030UB. If your deciding between the Epson 5030UB or the Sony HW40ES, please consider the room and seating location. In a bright room then the Epson is a better fit, if you have good light control the Sony has better color reproduction. Depending on your seating location, noise may be a factor. The Sony is whisper quiet, you can't hear it from 3 feet away. The Epson can be heard from 10-15 feet, sounds like a loud ceiling fan. If you are far enough away or have the ability to keep the projector on low and get an acceptable picture you will be ok, but on high it is very distracting.
