The new Islay ferry MV
The new Islay ferry MV Finlaggan was built in Poland at Remontowa Shipyard in Gdanks. During the construction phase and at when the ferry arrived on Islay I've received many images from John Salton of CMAL and Ewan Graham. The video shows a compilation of the various stages of the construction starting in 2009 all the way up to the first interior pictures taken by passenger on the 2nd of June 2011. The MV Finlaggan arrived on Islay for the first time on the 24st of May. A naming ceremony was held on the 25th. Her maiden voyage was on the 1st of June after a port engine failure which was repaired in Oban.
