Dr. Jalali is passionate to revive lung and systemic serotonin pathologies. COVID is a disease where clotting occurs that maybe due to serotonin. Let’s discuss Dr. Jalali’s understanding of the pathology and the possible management.

A quick note about Dr. Jalali’s approach towards the COVID therapy.
Dr. Jalali believes serotonin receptor (5HT-2) antagonism will be beneficial in the management of severe COVID19, due to increasing evidence of a biochemical and clinical serotonin-excess state, caused by severe platelet activation in this disease. Let’s discuss mechanisms, rationale for the agent heading to trials (Cyproheptadine) and the anecdotal outcomes so far. More importantly, let’s learn about the widespread, potent, and oft-overlooked action of serotonin outside of the central nervous system.
