However, it does not exist in many languages, so it is very important to understand and use it properly. Do you know where to use the simple present tense? If not, the video is meant for you. In this video, I’ll teach you how to use it and when to use it. This class clarifies 10 uses of the simple present tense. We use the simple present tense to express the following:
1. Regular Activities
2. General Truth/Universal Truth (facts that are always true)
3. Habits
4. Description of People/things
5. Future Events already Fixed/Schedules
6. Frequency
7. Stative Verbs (Stative verbs describe a continuing state, so do not usually have a continuous form)
8. Narration (of Story, Events, Live Telecast) - as a substitute of simple past tense
9. Quotations
10. News Headlines/Mathematical Formulas/Scientific Truth
