This beginner jazz piano tutorial includes a 5 minute practice exercise targeting common right hand rhythms over left hand walking bass.  The right hand starts out using a 3-4 note scale focusing on the subdivision of beat, and then progresses to chord comping.

This is a great exercise to aim to match note for note, or use it to uncover which rhythms you find most challenging to design your own practice exercise.  Remember to stop the video and work on rhythms in isolation if you need to.  You have mastered this when you can play it accurately AND have full control over your dynamics.

Right hand rhythms covered over left hand crotchets:
- 1/4 notes
- 1/8s swinging
- Quaver triplets
- 16s
- Ornaments
- Syncopation
- Crotchet triplets
- 'Doo-vah' (1+)
- 'vah-Doo' (+1)
