Hey all,
Just recently, I had a trip to the East Lancs Railway. There were 3 locomotives running on the day to keep up with the high demands for trains to get to each station which was renamed and given a different theme.

Bury Bolton Street was the station representing the British side as Trafalgar Square. On the station was mainly arts and crafts with a WW2 clothes store upstairs.

Irwell Vale was mas a as Camp Roanoke, Le Haure and was one of 2 stations with nothing going on at them.

Rawtenstall was dressed up as a German town called Rossendorf, in my opinion, this was the best station. There was a WW2 field hospital with dummies cut open and bleeding, really creating the WW2 feel. Later on in the day there was a war enactment going on.

On the Saturday, there was a Spitfire Flyover but sadly we visited on the Monday.

Ramsbotton was not visited by us.

Heywood was left untouched.

If you want to visit this event to film, I was told by many members of staff not to go on the Saturday or Sunday because of high numbers of people.

I would really recommend this event.

Hope you all enjoyed!
