"Aphonopelma cf chalcodes, adult male. A short video shows the wasp straddling a paralyzed male tarantula when an adult female Aphonopelma cfchalcodes exits her burrow, about 30 centimeters away, and moves quickly to grasp the male tarantula from the wasp before backing away to turn and enter her burrow with the male tarantula. The wasp quickly follows the pair down the burrow. The wasp emerges from the burrow approximately a minute later, headfirst, and walks to the spot where the paralyzed male tarantula laid on the ground. She places her mouthparts on the ground where the paralyzed male tarantula laid as if to drink fluids produced by the then immobilized tarantula. The wasp remained in the area surrounding the burrow for about 10 minutes before flying away. Minutes later, the female tarantula covered the burrow entrance with silk, from inside, indicating the wasp did not paralyze or oviposit on her"
