India is a signatory under the Agreement on Agriculture and this imposes restrictions on the provision of subsidies in the form of de minimis. India has used the peace clause in the case of subsidies that it has provided to farmers.
India along with South Africa has proposed a waiver of provisions under TRIPS which would make it easier for producers to manufacture and supply vaccines and also the production of other products related to the fight against Covid.
