Dr. Giora Landesberg, from Hadassah Medical Center Jerusalem, was the first investigator to show a dose relationship between cardiac biomarkers and survival. In his presentation during the Panel: Peri-Operative Myocardial Injury and Infarction: Pathophysiology, Prognosis and Treatment, he discusses the pathophysiology of myocardial injury and infarction, specifically how ST-elevation and non-ST elevation share similar physiology but require very different treatment approaches.
