Build Your Dreams, or simply known as BYD, started in 1995 manufacturing batteries for consumer electrics and quickly grew into the one of the largest battery manufacturers in the world. It's automotive subsidiary, founded in 2003, focuses on producing commercial vehicles like buses, trucks, forklifts and taxis. The BYD e6 is a relatively understated EV and was originally introduced here in Singapore as taxis and proven themselves to be an hardy and utilitarian EV at an affordable price with good range.
