2025 Mazda CX-5 - This exciting announcement was quietly revealed in Mazda's financial results document for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024. The highlight? The third-generation CX-5 will feature a hybrid powertrain developed entirely in-house by Mazda. However, Mazda hasn't specified if this will be a traditional hybrid or a plug-in hybrid just yet.
It's interesting to note that Mazda has previously utilized Toyota's hybrid technology for some of their models. For example, in China, there’s a CX-50 that uses the Toyota RAV4's electrified components. And speaking of the CX-50, Mazda has also confirmed a hybrid version of this model for other markets in the second half of 2024.
