Malmsteen’s favorite sound, A Aeolian,
Malmsteen’s favorite sound, A Aeolian, or A natural minor. Of course you can use A harmonic minor too, who cares! Yngwie doesn’t.
There is a D# diminished chord in the sixth bar. Notes are D# F# A B#
As you may have noticed, there’s an A in there, sou you can use that note as a reference for diminished arpeggios.
To sum it up, you’ll end up thinking; A Aeolian, A harmonic minor, A diminished.
Playing guitar is a very demanding activity. Kicking your leg in the air, while spending thousands of guitar picks in the process, do a drum solo, attack your guitar technician with a Marshall head…all of this wearing a very uncomfortable leather pants. So you don’t have much time to think about scales and stuff. Keep it simple.
