Here I show you some close up video of the Simmons 4x32mm 22 mag riflescope. This scope is model # 511022 in matt black with the truplex reticle.
As of 6-16-2017 you can purchase this scope from BHPhoto for $29. What type of scope do you get for the price?
Actually, an amazing value well beyond the price point.
The optics are clear with nice vivid colors, no barrel distortion, no blurring, and very forgiving eye placement. I notice no real color fringing. The scope is relatively very light at about 9oz including the plastic scope caps that came with this scope.
Parallax is set at 50yards which is very nice on a 4x scope. Objects from around 10yards all the way to well over 150 yards look sharp and in focus. The turrets have caps to cover them and work fine to zero the scope.
I envision this scope being used on a lightweight rimfire rifle (22LR, 22Mag, 17HMR) where you still want some magnification to take shots up to about 100 yards. It would make a great value scope for a hand held rifle to walk around with for long periods of time. Pair this with a lightweight pair of aluminum rings and you're good to go. By the way, the rings that came with the scope (which is unthinkable at this price) can get the job done, but I found the screws strip easy (Phillips head). For $29 I would just use the scope and get my own rings.
I've had this scope for almost 5 years and it's worked great! Not a single issue. Primarily used it on a lightweight Ruger 10/22 build and love it. Great rifle for plinking.
I also tried the Simmons 22Mag 3-9 scope and didn't like the optical quality. This 4x is much nicer!
Don't laugh, but the scope came with a lifetime warranty. I'm beyond impressed and would highly recommend this scope.
