My Genie garage door won't
My Genie garage door won't close all the way and the car remote controls don't work for it either. So I had to replace the sensors, which were probably 20+ years old. This fixed the garage door and now it closes all the way.
So in this video I'll walk you through how to get your garage door to close again if it only closes part way and then opens up again. This indicates a sensor problem. There are three fixes generally for this: re-align the sensors, check the cables, and replace the sensor, which is what I did.

UPDATE: We did eventually have to replace the garage door opener. So the sensors fixed the problem initially but since our garage door opener was so old it started having problems again and when we changed out the opener ($600 ish) things worked great. Replacing the sensors will fix a lot of common problems, but sometimes the opener goes kaput, too.
