Tavel is a little-known wine producing area just across the river Rhône from the world-famous Chäteauneuf du Pape. Guigal in contrast is a producer synonymous with quality wines from the northern and southern Rhöne. This wine makes use of one white and three red varieties, drawing out more colour and tannin from the grape skins during maceration than a regular rosé. Full-bodied and very dry it is a perfect accompaniment to white meat and veggie dishes.
