Argentinians flock to see GIANT Lionel Messi mural unveiled on 1-year World Cup anniversary

A huge mural of Lionel
A huge mural of Lionel Messi was unveiled in Buenos Aires on Monday, exactly a year after Argentina won the World Cup trophy in Qatar.
Martin Ron, the artist responsible for another iconic mural such as the one of Diego Maradona inaugurated a couple of years ago, worked for three weeks with his assistants on this mural, aiming to replicate a photo of Lionel Messi after he scored a pivotal goal against Mexico at the 2022 World Cup.
The mural is 35 metres high and 18 metres wide, and it is located on the side of the 9 de Julio Avenue, the most important avenue in Buenos Aires. It is also just nine blocks away from the Obelisk monument, a landmark in the city where fans always gather to celebrate important events, especially those related to football victories.
Ron revealed that he had been told that Lionel Messi was aware of the existence of the mural, and he hopes to receive feedback from the Argentina national team captain soon.
Despite strong winds and rain that came down in Buenos Aires during the day, approximately 200 fans gathered at the Obelisk monument to celebrate the first anniversary of their country's World Cup victory in Qatar. This is the same place in which last year fans dressed up in blue and white jerseys to wildly celebrate the World Cup title after 36 years, when another icon of football, Diego Maradona, led Argentina to victory in Mexico 1986.
