The start of the 13th
The start of the 13th day of the kayak tour on the Moselle river in France took place at around 8:00 a.m. With the Seawave touring kayak from Gumotex. From the Luxembourg town of Mertert where I camped in the wilderness in an igloo tent. The trip with the Seawave inflatable kayak from Gumotex took me as a river hiker on this day of the trip to the campsite of the FC Mehring rowing club in Germany or in Reinland-Pfalz in the Hunsrück. Shortly after starting from Mertert in Luxembourg with my travel kayak, the Fuss Sauer flowed into the Moselle from the left. The kayak trip went past the sprawling vineyards of the Moselle. Shortly after the ferry in front of Wasserliesch I finally arrived in German territorial waters. In the village I first had breakfast in a bakery. As soon as I started paddling, the Saar flowed into the now German river from the right Flow. The only lock on this day of travel was the lock near Trier. The lock can easily be bypassed using a self-lock device. You just have to pull the green lever once and everything happens automatically. Electronic boards provide you with comprehensive information about the current status of the lock. A good bit behind Trier, I did some leisurely, extremely slow shopping in a well-air-conditioned Aldi. After a short rest in my travel kayak in a shallow bay on the Moselle, the kayak trekking tor went to the campsite of the local water sports club behind Mehring on the Moselle.
