In Bangladesh student-led demonstrations over road safety continued Sunday. Protests have paralysed parts of the capital Dhaka after two teenagers were killed by a speeding bus one week ago. Violent clashes have broken out, with demonstrators blaming youth activists from the country''s ruling party for unprovoked attacks, and the US embassy condemning a police crackdown on protesters. High schools have been closed and mobile internet has been cut off in large swaths of the country as the unrest has spread beyond the capital. The country''s prime minister has urged students to go home amid fears that their actions could spark wider anti-government protests ahead of the general election later this year.
